Cpl Carl Mantell-Unit armorer

This small group of Corporal Carl Mantell is nicely displayed in a riker mount. Mantell was a member of the 731st Bomb Squadron, 452nd Bomb Group, 8th AF. He served in the ETO from January 1944 to August 1945.

This collection consists of four autographed photos of crewmembers, three patches, and rank worn by Admiral Frederick Ashworth with signed letter saying they belonged to him. This also includes sergeant rank and mapcase with Nagasaki escape map owned by Ray Gallagher and carried on the bombing flight. A letter from Mr. Gallagher mentioning the mapcase is included, but the rank is not noted (letter not shown).
